Have you ever fainted in the face of adversity?
Ever been so overwhelmed with trials and sufferings that you just wanted to quit?
I think we all have, but Proverbs tells us to keep going and that our strength is small if we quit when adversity rises up against us. It seems today that every where you turn you see or know of someone facing problems, tramatic events of sickness and disease, financial difficulty, or personal life changing experiences that are hard to overcome, muchless the battle of spiritual warfare and decisions of right and wrong.
We must ask ourselves everyday,
What would Jesus do???
This is a constant question lingering in the back of our mind and if it's not, it should be.
Life today is a life filled with ADVERSITY ......
ad·ver·si·ty
1. A state of hardship or affliction; misfortune.
2. A calamitous event.
3. distress ...
When circumstances or a situation works against you, you face adversity.
4. Adverse fortune or fate; a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, or distress.
It seems for sure that none of us are immune to this thing called adversity, this word and this phrase has been rolling around in my spirit for a while and God has been leading me to write this message because some of us who are standing in the midst of this battle of adversity, that seems to be trying to overpower us and take us down, but I have come today with divine words of encouragement and to tell you that God will use the adversity you are battling in your life right now to make you strong and courageous, and adversity will birth victory in your life if you stand in faith.
God will make you an overcomer.
For He Himself will prove to you that He will be an ontime God, and He will never fail you.
A friend will show his or her true colors in times of adversity.
It is in times of adversity that we truly find out who our friends are and those who will stand beside us through thick and thin, even so it is with God, sometimes He allows adversity in our lives because it is then our true love and strength in Him will shine.
Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them.
It is in these times our greatest strengths can be revealed, and also our greatest weaknesses, and these are lessons that are meant to help us grow and mature in our faith and trust in God.
It is also in these times that we can dig down deep inside ourselves and realize what it means to be a child of The Most High and what it truly means to be a son or daughter of God.
Luke 16:23
16 “Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”
18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
22 “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
23 Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. 24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
When Jesus told His disciples, "I give you POWER over all the POWER of the enemy" the true meaning is veiled, at least in the English version of that statement.
The first word translated POWER is exousia which means authority.
The second word translated POWER is dunamis which means ability.
So God is saying, yes, the e...nemy does have dark abilities that could potential debilitate you---but you have complete AUTHORITY over those satanic tactics.
And Authority wins out over ability every time.
A tractor trailer driver has the "ability" to run over a policeman.
The policeman has the "authority" to stop the tractor trailer.
Who is going to win in that confrontation? And so it is spiritually. (See Luke 10:19)
Galations 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Ephesians 6:10
Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual host of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Can I tell you that it is the adversity in your life that helps you truly find out who you are in God and keeps you seeking for more of Him in your life.
If we can ever learn who we are in Christ Jesus and take Him at His word to us, and use the authority and the power He has shed His precious blood for, that we could be restored back to Him.
He's already paid the price, He's already paved the road ahead for us to follow, He's already said He would give us His strength to make the journey......not only that but He also said we will never be alone....
So My child when you are tired, do not be disheartened.
Most of your discouragement comes when you carry your own burden, forgetting to call upon Me for help.
Give it all and do so quickly, for you must understand that as soon as heavyness sets in it cast down your trust in me, and an atmosphere of anxiety and unhappiness can destroy your faith and it will wither like grass without water and die.
Trust in Me saith The Lord and I will be your strong arm.
Romans 12:12
Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer.
For in all these things that have encompassed you around about, you will find me.
For I The Lord God will not leave you
