John 4: 23-24
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
God is a spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.
God is seeking people to worship Him,
but true worshipers must worship Him on His terms.
In Spirit, means with all of our heart.
In Truth, means according to God's revelation of Himself to us through His word.
True worship means that our eyes are on God and not on others for God is our only audience.
To truly worship God in truth, we must not only reveal ourselves in the most honest and humbling revelation of who we are, but also in the most honest and humble revelation of ourselves in relationship to others.
One of the greatest judements that Jesus ever pronounced was against the scribes and pharisees, whom He called hypocrites because they did their good deeds to be seen by men, but privately they were liars and cheaters, who were out to take advantage of God's people for their own power of leadership and financial and political gain.
Mathew 23: 5-7
Everything they do is done for men to see; they make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and have men to call them ' Rabbi.
Mathew 6:1
Be Careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
Our tendency is to be aware only of those who are watching us, and only aware of what others see in us, around us, or about us.
However, our lives tell a different story when we realize that God is our audience and our Judge, realizing this should affect everything we do in leadership and in ministry.
When we choose to make our life a life of worship to our King, all of our hidden agenda's begin to fade as our total life becomes a worship experience like no other, where our only desire is to be caught up in His very presence and our heart only desires to do the things that please Him and bring Him glory.
The best way to exalt God only is to first and foremost be His servant and exemplify the attributes of a servant leader.
Philippians 2: 5-7
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus; who being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and bacame obedient to death - even death on the cross.
One of the basics of effective leadership is clarifying what good results and an honest lifestyle look like, for without this openness in our heart and life we cannot have a clear vision of where we are headed, and soon we will get sidetracked and stop short of our final destination.
The very place where God has called us to, our purpose, our destiny..... our flesh will then get caught up in the sin of self exaltation and God will cut us off.
Remember our journey and calling should never be more about us than about God.
Humility is an attitude of the heart and there is a difference between putting on the appearance of humility before men and being truly humble in the presence and purpose of God.
True Humility is when you are brutally honest about yourself and to others.
It is seeing yourself as God see's you.
True humility shines when you are not arrogant or proud.
Who you are or what you have done will never be the key motive of your life and ministry, but your desire will be to simply take all of those acomplishments and lay them at the feet of Jesus, It will be your honest desire to give Glory to God who is the true author and finisher of our faith.
Leading like Jesus requires us to develop a high standard for moment by moment decision making based on how God see's things and not how we see them.
We can truly fulfill His purpose for our lives and glorify Him in the process.
This is the purest form of our worship.
You see the humility that Jesus demonstrated did not come from lack of self-esteem, love, power or even ability.
His humility came from the fact that He already knew who He was and where He came from and where He was going and who He came to call to take His message around the world.
We too can be confident and walk in faith, to be assured of God's favor and blessing, and how much more power can we walk in when we know without a shadow of a doubt that we have aligned our hearts to worship in all truth and honesty before an all seeing God.
Letting our life shine the message of God's hand and favor upon us without ever speaking a word.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Can I just tell you today that your degree of effectiveness in leading like Jesus will hinge on the quality and level of your trust in God, but more importantly of God's trust in you, and how you walk in obedience and follow the instructions outlined in His word.
Therefore, if we trust in God and honor His word and believe in His promises, then we can be assured that we will continue to move forward in His favor and blessings in all we aspire to do.
Live out true Worship to God everyday,
and see if His blessings will not follow you, provide for you, and enlarge your boarders in Him.
Let Him do it...
If you live your life only to please God and put Him in charge of every aspect of your life, your perspective will begin to change and your character will grow into a God given confidence that will lead you all throughout your life to exemplify integrity and true heartfelt worship.
Because of this change of heart, you can enjoy a never ending supply of God's unconditional love, acceptance, and value that is no longer dependent on your performance in comparison to others, for your only audience is God.
Let us hear the voice of the Father today.
Luke 12:32
Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
