Have you ever judged someone harshly for a decision they made or something they did wrong and then one day you found
Yourself facing the same situation and then suddenly you better understood them and why they made the decision you judged them so harshly for, not that it was the right thing to do
But you just understood more what they went through.
Why or how can God be so merciful to those sometimes we feel
Don’t deserve mercy – because my friend He was touched by all feelings and infirmities.
For I believe that day on the cross ALL SIN! ALL SICKNESS!
He bore for us!
It is feeling what we feel that touches the heart of God to continuously give us His mercy. Jesus - in Luke 11:3
They sent unto him saying Lord behold he whom thou lovest
Is sick! ( speaking of Lazarus the brother of Mary and Martha) It is the same chapter we find the shortest verse in the bible “ Jesus Wept”.
Did He weep because Lazarus died? No He knew that He himself was the resurrection and that He would raise Lazarus from the dead! He wept for He was touched by and at the same time disappointed in those He was the closest to.
Touched because He felt the hurt and pain of those who had just lost their loved one, and disappointed because as many days as they had walked w/ Him and saw many of the miracles He had done…… Did He not raise Jarus’s daughter from the dead, had He not miraculously fed 5000 at one time and 10,000 another, Did he not heal the woman w/ the issue of blood, Did He not walk on water, and deliver the demoniac man who was possessed by devils. Now they saw all that He had done and He
Even told them “ I am the resurrection, I am the Life! “
Jesus wept for 2 reasons:
Without question the Lord is a God who feels!
The concept of a feeling, weeping God is inconceivable to an unbelieving world. And also despicable to the mind of the wicked. Why would any body want a God that shows weakness?
In the carnal mind of the world we view weeping as a sign of weakness when in reality it is a sign of feeling and compassion and yes it is a sign of heartache and pain.
What an awesome discovery to know that your God Feels
And He knows all that you and I go through.
Thank God, we have a High Priest who’s name is Jesus and He is touched with the feelings of all of our infirmities.
That touch releases unto us the mercy and grace He shed His blood for on calvary!
Does that mean Jesus can also be disappointed in us? Yes I believe Jesus was disappointed many times in His disciples and Mary and Martha as well that day simply because of
their distrust in Him. For example When He took His
Disciples to the garden with him to pray when he was about to be crucified – He had ask His disciples to pray and as He agonized in prayer He had ask His Disciples to watch and pray w/ Him. And time after time He went back where he’d left them and found them sleeping. He said, Can you not pray w/ me one hour?
Jesus knows what it feels like to feel alone, He knew deep
In His heart He had to go to calvary alone. Are you lonely?
Do you feel sometimes your facing all the good and bad life’s
Hand has delt you all alone? Have you faced tragedy alone? Sickness alone? Financial struggles alone? Well
Can I just tell you Jesus understands and because He has
Felt exactly what you are feeling now He has promised
In His word you will never be alone. “ For Low I am with you always even unto the end of the world.” “ Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world, giveth give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Jesus knows what is feels like to be rejected by those He loved the very most. When it came down to it I’m sure Jesus felt like Peter was not the only one who rejected Him.
Think about it. What has been the struggle with the children of Israel and is still to this day? They all rejected the messiah. The savior of the world sent to them by God.
Can you imagine the magnitude of hurt and rejection Jesus felt. Have you been hurt by someone you love? Have you felt you have done everything within you to love them and yet when all is said and done they gave you nothing in return but hurt and rejection? Jesus knows how you feel.
And somehow thru all His hurt and rejection Still who did
He go to after His resurrection?
Mary went to the tomb and found it was empty, she ran back and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord and that He had spoken to her. He said go tell my disciples and Peter,
Since Peter had been the one to openly reject the Lord His
Significance was to reach out to Peter and assure Him He had
Forgiven Him. Wow! What a magnitude of Love and forgiveness Christ has given us, and thru Him we can love and forgive those who have hurt and rejected us the most.
Then again the Lord appeared unto His disciples several times
Thru out the scriptures, could it be that the purpose for Jesus allowing Lazuras to die was to demonstrate His resurrection power, a type and shadow, if you will, of the more glorious day of resurrection, that their faith be strong to believe that Jesus would rise again as He said and more than that for us to believe today and have hope that we will too rise from that watery grave that sin and death has bound us in, and that we will be w/ our loved ones again.
There is Hope, There is Life, and all Jesus is asking us to do is to trust and believe in Him.
So simple is the Lord’s plan for us and why in the world we live in today people make it so hard, so hard to serve the Lord, and to commit to a lifetime relationship w/ our creator who all these years has been merciful and longsuffering toward us.
But His word plainly states:
My spirit will not always strive w/ man. Yes, there is a day of reckoning that lies ahead, Help us Lord to Believe, Touch Thou our unbelief. Help us to learn from your example of True Love and forgiveness that we in turn Love and forgive others and may our heart be purified by your precious blood
That we reject our messiah no longer but reach out giving all we have to you as you have for us.
